Chinmaya Mission Washington Regional Center - Chinmaya Somnath


Thank you for your interest in Chinmaya Mission Washington Regional Center - Chinmaya Somnath.
Venue: Herndon High School, 700 Bennett St Herndon, Virginia 20170

Effective September 2011, CMWRC's Springfield and Dulles chapters will be consolidated into the Northern Virginia chapter, Chinmaya Somnath at Herndon.

Eligibility for Bala Vihar: Children must have attained a minimum age of 4 years. However, younger siblings of children attending Bala Vihar can attend the Bala Vihar Madhuram A0 class, as long as they are three years or older and are potty trained.

Bala Vihar Sessions:
Two weekly sessions will be offered:

    • Sunday morning from 9:50am-11:30am
    • Sunday afternoon from 1:20pm-3:00pm

Language and Shloka Classess:
    • Language classes will be held in between the Sunday morning and afternoon Bala Vihar sessions from 11:35am-12:35pm.
    • Shloka-1 class will be held from 11:45am-12:15pm concurrent with the Language classes; Shloka-2 class will be held from 12:40pm-1:10pm

Prioritization of Registrants for Bala Vihar Sessions:
While we would love to accommodate everyone in their first choice Bala Vihar session, constraints with respect to parking, assembly hall or classroom capacity, or teacher to student ratio may dictate otherwise. In such cases sessions will be filled on a first come-first served priority basis, with additional consideration given to teachers and other sevaks critical to smooth operation of the program. A registrant's first-come-first-served priority will be established only upon completion of ALL the registration requirements defined in Section 8 of the Registration Instructions. Assignment of registrants to morning and afternoon sessions will be finalized by a Chinmaya Somnath coordination team based on the above principles.
